What is the mid-market rate?
The midpoint between the buy and sell prices in the global currency market. It's the fairest reference rate — the one you see on Google, Reuters, and XE.
Why does my bank give a worse rate?
Banks and credit cards add a 2–4% markup over the mid-market rate as their conversion fee. Fintech remittance services usually charge much less.
Are exchange rates the same everywhere?
