Frequently asked questions

How do I stack discounts?

Multiply the factors: 20% off then 10% off is (1−0.20) × (1−0.10) = 0.72, a 28% total discount, not 30%.

Discount vs. markdown?

Discount usually applies at checkout; markdown is a reduced ticket price shown before checkout. Either way, the customer pays the reduced amount.

Is a bigger discount always a better deal?

Only if the item was priced fairly to begin with. Compare against average selling price using price-tracking tools before assuming a percentage-off is a deal.
